Church of England

The transition years from childhood through adolescence into young adulthood bring with them many changes. It's often a time when young people struggle to feel that they belong in the church community. We asked Kat Witham, Youth Adviser for the Diocese of Blackburn, for her thoughts on how churches can be welcoming places where young people can grow and flourish in their faith. Her top tips include:

  • Just be friendly
  • Get young people involved
  • Take them seriously
  • Give them a voice
  • Don't forget the food!
