St Luke, author of Luke's Gospel and the Acts of the Apostlews, is remembered on 18th October. It is believed that he was a physician who was born in Antioch and died in about 84AD. He accompanied the apostle Paul on some of his travels. His Gospel records the shepherds at the Incarnation, and focusses on those who were 'outsiders'.
