Horley Team Ministry are looking for a Children and Youth Worker with experience, enthusiasm and vision to be responsible for overseeing and growing the discipleship of our children and young people by placing the family unit at the centre of our discipleship strategy and building a culture of discipleship within every church family.

Key responsibilities include:

  • developing fresh expressions of Church in particular, in the new, local Church of England Primary School and other local schools
  • encouraging young people to be part of the life of the Churches, providing them with opportunities to contribute in a variety of ways to the worship; enabling them to grow in their faith and to become valuable members of the congregation and community
  • encouraging the leaders, overseeing, advising and providing them with opportunities to develop and learn new skills
  • looking at the wider community and the needs of children and their families, and to see how best the churches can meet those needs to provide training for the leaders of the Churches’ young people's groups, researching appropriate training courses (from inside or outside sources)
  • working alongside the other churches and youth workers within Horley 
  • building relationships with local schools
  • working with the SparkFish team to provide Learn! and Think! in Horley schools
  • working as chaplain in Trinity Oaks Primary School under the leadership of the Head Teacher 
  • ensuring proper safeguarding procedures are followed in the Churches’ work with children and young people
